Phakamisa have been operating from 1999 providing consulting, management training,plant auditing and lifting equipment to the mines and all types of major industrial plants and factories.
Our mission is to provide a specialist quality service to assist users of lifting equipment to implement and adhere to a total safe lifting program in the work place by offering to conduct the following projects:
- Plant surveys and audits on lifting equipment to ensure legal compliance, to study various types
of lifting applications and advise on correct and safe use, correct methods of inspection, records,marking, storage and all other aspects of safe lifting practice and procedure. Furthermore,
hazardous applications are identified and recommendations made to improve safe lifting at
the end of the visit. - Researching and compiling a customized Code of Practice for users of lifting equipment covering all aspects of safe use, care and maintenance to ensure implementation and adherence to a safe lifting program for employees and contractors on site.
- On site, full day Advanced Safety and Technical Seminars, with written assessment and Certification. Target candidates are artisans, supervisors, inspectors, rigging staff, safety personnel and all other responsible persons involved with lifting equipment.
- Lifting equipment inspection training and registers.
- Lastly, all consulting and training services are personally conducted by Piet Otto, who has been actively involved in the lifting equipment industry for 35 years, in the manufacturing, marketing, inspection and training field.
